Aerosmith, the veteran rock band, have announced new plans for a European tour this summer, after singer Steven Tyler rejoined the group.

In a surprise announcement via their website late on Thursday, the band disclosed they had reconciled after a public feud which nearly crippled the group.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers said the "Cocked, Locked and Ready To Rock" 11-date European summer tour, would include singer Tyler.

The announcement, accompanied by a light-hearted video, came after recent turmoil for the enduring rock band that included public squabbling, threats of a line-up change and a stint in rehab for Tyler, 61.

The tour, the first on the continent for more than three years, will play at London’s 02 Arena on June 15.

It opens in Sweden on June 10 before continuing through Romania, Greece, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, the Czech Republic before a final stop in Venice on July 3.

In the video Tyler, sitting with the rest of the band, jokes: "I just auditioned and I got the gig. We're coming your way and rocking your world. Look out, baby because here we come again.”

Tyler, sporting a frumpy woman's hat with a large feather protruding from the back, added: "Back by popular demand with more spit and fire than ever before, we're coming across the pond and parting the waters as we go.”

Drummer Joey Kramer broke out in laughter, bass player Tom Hamilton cackled while guitarist Joe Perry, who led the rebellion against Tyler, texted on his mobile.

Rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford was absent although the band, insisted he would tour.

He had previously said that he and Tyler have had "a contentious relationship for many years."

Perry said: "The rumours are true. Enough BS - we're coming and everything is going to be set at eleven."

In an earlier interview, Kramer said: "Everything right now in Aero-land is very copacetic. ... We will carry on and do what we do best."

"The one common denominator that we still all have is that we all love to get up on stage and rock out, play music and bring joy to people.

“And we let the other drama, as of late, kind of filter itself out by the wayside and concentrate on more of what's important, which is the playing and the business at hand.”

Last November Tyler, quit the group after nearly 40 years and let his bandmates know via an interview posted online.

Then in December, he returned to rehab for the second time in as many years to battle an addiction to prescription painkillers.

Several weeks ago, his lawyer threatened legal action if the band toured without him.

Aerosmith was forced to cancel its summer tour of the United States last August after Tyler fell off the stage in the middle of a song and broke his shoulder.

His bandmates showed little sympathy after the incident in South Dakota, claiming that Tyler would communicate with them only through his personal managers.

Tyler had also expressed a desire to take a break so that he could write his memoir and focus on what he cryptically term "brand Tyler”.

The members of Aerosmith are no strangers to drugs, debauchery and divisions.

The so-called "bad boys of Boston" first achieved fame in the early 1970s with such rock perennials as "Dream On" and "Walk this Way”.

But the success was accompanied by their prodigious abuse of drugs and alcohol.

The band careened towards oblivion by decade's end as sales dried up and both guitarists left.

They enjoyed a comeback in the '80s after getting sober.
